Dear Parents/Guardians of the Alburgh Community Education Center:
The month of February has had crazy weather. Spring is around the corner.
The faculty/staff and Leadership Team have been working on reviewing data for our Continuous Improvement Plan. I recently attended an Administrative Retreat where we reviewed individual school data and needs to be reflected within the GISU Continuous Improvement Plan. It was a great day to hear about what our neighboring schools are doing to meet the needs of their students and the VT Education Quality Standards. I look forward continuing this work to make our school better to meet the needs of ALL students.
As principal of our school, I am asking parents and guardians to support and collaborate with us to guide our students in making our school bully free. In the past two weeks, we have had bullying issues within our school. I praise the faculty/staff for supporting students and administration during these times. I’m hoping that we can become partners in this pursuit in having ACEC be bully free. There is zero tolerance for bullying behavior in our school. ALL students have the right to come to school feeling safe and have a sense of belonging to our school community. A positive school environment will support our students’ educational and emotional growth to give them a foundation to succeed in high school and become positive citizens. If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know.
Sheriff Allen of the Grand Isle Sheriff’s Office and Chief Kumetz of the Alburgh Fire Department will be at our school on Friday, February 22 to review ice safety prior to our vacation. Please discuss with your child(ren) what they learned during these presentations prior to going out on the ice.
As your principal, I am committed to leading ACEC the best it can be. With our great faculty/staff, support of the school board, community and parents/guardians we will continue to set goals, make adjustments based on students’ needs to improve outcomes for ALL students.
My door is always open. Please stop by if you have any questions or concerns.
