GISU has successfully applied for our Island communities to participate in providing free breakfast and lunch to students through the Student Summer Mobile Meals program this summer. This program is fully funded by the USDA.
GISU will be working with Vermont Blue Sky Packing and The Abbey Group to provide seven days worth of breakfast and lunch meals on a weekly basis. Folsom families are eligible - there are no eligibility requirements. Everyone between the ages of 0-18 years is eligible to take advantage of this program. No questions asked. Children do not need to be with the parent/guardian when the boxes are distributed.
The refrigerated truck will be in Grand Isle from 4:00-4:30 every Thursday starting on June 19th and the last distribution will be on August 14th. The truck will continue on to Alburgh and distribute food from 5:00-5:30 every Thursday also starting on June 19th and ending on August 14th.
