Hello ACEC Community!

This is our first Mustang News of the year.  We will distribute Mustang News once a month.  We will be posting the Mustang News on our website and will be sending it to each parent/guardian’s email address that we have on file.  If you wish to receive a hardcopy, please call Shannon English at school or email Shannon at senglish@gisu.org

Open House will be on October 20th from 5:30-6:30. We are very excited to have this in-person this year and can’t wait to see you all.

The school counselors, Mrs. Cramer and Ms. Mora are working on Red Ribbon Week.  Red Ribbon Week is the longest drug prevention awareness program.   We will be celebrating Red Ribbon week from October 24th-28th.  More information to come.

The family engagement activity for the month of October is having families make scarecrows at home.  Make as many as you want.  On Saturday, October 15th from 10:00 AM-11AM, families can bring the scarecrows they have made to the front lawn of our school to decorate for the fall season.  We will have cider and donuts available.  Please let us know if you will be coming to ensure we have the correct amount of cider and donuts available.  You can email Wendy at wsavage@gisu.org or call her at 796-3573 ext. 1.

NEW MORNING PROCEDURE:

·       The gym door will no longer be open in the morning.  Students who are dropped off should walk on the sidewalk and enter through the front door.  If the busses are gone, parents/guardians can pull up to the front door to drop their student(s) off.

·       We are asking that parents/guardians to please drop off their children at the front door.  Younger students will be greeted when they enter the building by an adult. The adult will make sure they get to the cafeteria.

·       If students eat breakfast at school, please get them to school by 7:50. Breakfast will stop being served in the cafeteria at 7:50.  Students will in their classrooms at 8:00 AM to start the academic day.

In ending, I want to thank the parents/guardians for their support and keeping our school safe. If you have questions or concerns, I encourage you to call me directly.

Enjoy the fall season!

Ms. Beth
